Boot Camp Assistant Cannot Be Used

In certain circumstances, Boot Camp Assistant might stop responding, or it might say that Boot Camp installation failed while copying the Windows installation files. Follow these steps to resolve the issue: Little blocks mod 1.12.2.

  1. If you're in Boot Camp Assistant and it isn't responding, use Option-Command-Escape (Esc) to force the app to quit.
  2. Install the latest macOS updates, which can include updates to Boot Camp.
  3. Download the latest edition of Windows 10 from Microsoft's website. Then use Boot Camp Assistant to install it.

If Boot Camp Assistant says that the startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition, complete these additional steps:

  1. Open Disk Utility, which is in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder.
  2. Select your Mac startup disk (Macintosh HD) in the sidebar.
  3. In the Disk Utility toolbar, click Partition.
  4. If Disk Utility asks whether you would like to add a volume to the container or partition the device, click Partition.
  5. Click OSXRESERVED in the graph that appears, then click the remove button (–) below the graph.
  6. Click BOOTCAMP in the graph, then click the remove button (–).
    OSXRESERVED and BOOTCAMP are empty partitions that Boot Camp Assistant created during the failed installation.
  7. Click Apply, then click Partition to confirm.
  8. Open Boot Camp Assistant and try installing Windows again.

  1. Download the latest Apple drivers using Boot Camp Assistant under OS X. The Boot Camp Assistant wizard allows you to save the latest Apple drivers to a FAT32 formatted USB stick. Once you download the latest drivers, navigate to Bootcamp Drivers Broadcom. Find the Bluetooth drivers, install them.
  2. Installing Boot Camp drivers is essential for using a Touch Bar and Force Touch with Windows 10 on a Mac, amongst other actions and features. Switching Between MacOS and Windows. Boot Camp allows you to choose the operating system you want to boot up to use during system start, selecting either Windows or Mac OS as desired.

3b) OR if you don't have TM backup - instead of reinstalling the OS, just use SuperDuper to clone the external drive back to your internal hard drive.
